Sports Injuries
Acute soft tissue injuries are ideally treated as soon as possible after sustaining the injury.
The aim is to provide treatment within 48 hours of the patient contacting us, or the same day for those with urgent needs.

Back pain
Depending on the nature of the injury, this may be treated with mobilisations, hydrotherapy, deep tissue massage or acupuncture.
All patients that attend the clinic are fully assessed and then a suitable programme of treatment is devised. All back treatments would be supported with a programme of home exercises and postural advice, specifically related to the workplace if relevant.

Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid arthritis
These conditions respond particularly well to hydrotherapy in mobilising affected joints and to strengthen weak muscles with the support and warmth that this type of treatment provides; also this medium is very effective at providing pain relief.

Neurological disorders – e.g. stroke and multiple sclerosis
A full assessment is carried out when a new patient attends the clinic and a treatment programme is devised. This may involve an exercise-based regime out of the pool, or hydrotherapy and on occasions it has been very effective to combine both types of treatment.

Post-operative conditions - especially joint replacement and spinal surgery
These cases respond well to hydrotherapy. The warmth and support of the water is very beneficial for rehabilitation following surgery. Walking and gentle exercise in the pool places less stress on the new joints.
Many patients, after having a course of treatment wish to continue exercising regularly in the pool. Provided they have confidence and are safe in the water, patients are welcome to book the pool once a week to continue with their exercise programme, which will be reviewed by the physiotherapist regularly.

Patients can be referred by a doctor or they can refer themselves.

All private health insurance schemes are accepted.
