Hydrotherapy is physiotherapy and exercise in very warm water.

Exercises are performed under the supervision of our physiotherapist with the help of an assistant when necessary.

Both warmth and buoyancy are important features in helping to improve the range of movement in stiff joints, to promote muscle relaxation and strengthen weak muscles.

Working in a fluid medium makes it possible to obtain a greater range of movement with increased comfort, than would be achieved with dry land exercise.

Buoyancy is used as support or resistance to movement. It can be a very helpful adjunct in the treatment of injuries when activity is resumed or maintained as, the lower limb joints can be worked without having to transmit body weight.

N.B   The ability to swim is not necessary to receive hydrotherapy treatment.
